Extra quick post

I thought I would try to squeeze a quick post in before I start my next week on shift! Once it starts I get little time to do anything other than work ,eat and sleep and time goes so quick. A few doodles I have done in the last few days,

I have watched a couple of great art programs over the last few days, one was about this guy Norman Ackroyd who creates very atmospheric etchings and the other was a guy called Alan "Streets" who is a street painter in New York, his work is really inspirational. They are both well worth a look at.

March Already

I cannot believe how quick the year is going, it is really flashing by and when I look back on this blog I just see how long it is between me blogging and the gaps just get wider? I have noticed this on many other peoples blogs as well although some are extremely diligent and I get my weekly inspirational fix from them, many thanks.
I have been doodling as always and now get the chance to do a lot more than I was, mainly because I work a great shift system that allows me to do it on my time off. Here are just a few of them a quick marker sketch of the new Pope,

I have done a few gift cartoons which are more like little portraits in a cartoon setting. I still do these although personally they are always to busy and I don't like them. People like the hand drawn and ink colours rather than a digital or simple caricature? each to there own I suppose.

These next are a few aircraft engineers and are basic marker pen sketches and coloured with anything that was on my desk at the time.

Finally ,I cannot remember if I mentioned that I am really tight when it comes to spending money and have never bought a Moleskine sketch book for myself ever! but with enough hints I managed to get my good lady wife to buy me one for Valentines Day (result something I wanted for a change?)
